Digital DOT Binder
A document and compliance platform for trucking companies, drivers and safety teams.
The problem
Trucking companies have to keep a binder of documents for every driver and every vehicle, and keep it current: medical cards, licenses, inspections, drug and alcohol records. Most of it lived in folders, email threads and someone's memory. An audit meant a week of digging.
The idea
One place where drivers, safety staff and management look at the same binder. Every document has an owner, an expiry date and a status, so the question is never “do we have it?” but “what expires next?”
Expiry tracking
Every document carries a date and a status. The dashboard sorts by what needs attention.
Roles that match the company
Drivers see their own file, safety teams see the fleet, admins manage the account.
Audit views
The same data, filtered the way an auditor asks for it.
The build
A React front end on a Node.js API with MySQL underneath. Role-based access separates drivers, safety teams and company admins. Uploads go through a document pipeline with expiry tracking and reminders, and audit views are generated from the same records.
- React app
- Node.js REST API
- MySQL
- Document storage + reminders
The result
Documents are uploaded where they are created, expiring items surface before they become a problem, and an audit is a filtered view instead of a scramble.
